Guided Hike/Program - Mixed Ages
Who has lived at Ramsay-Shockey Open Space? Why is there a reservoir here? We'll explore the history of water in Colorado and how Pinewood Reservoir and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space are connected to it. This is part of the "Get to Know" series at Ramsay-Shockey Open Space. Topics include ecology, history, and how Larimer County Department of Natural Resources manages this property. Participants will hike the Shoshone Loop (2.7 miles). This hike will be moderately difficult, traveling over unpaved trails, uneven surfaces, moderate elevation gain, and may include mud. Most of the trail is shaded and pit toilets are available. There is no potable water. Program is free, but registration and parking pass ($10/day) is required. You can also check out a free Discover Pack from one of our offices or your local library and use the included temporary parking pass to visit the park for free: https://www.larimer.gov/naturalresources/discover-pack Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited.
