Guided Hike/Program - Adults, 16+

Are you interested in learning about the natural world that exists in our County Open Spaces? So many interesting plants and animals, birds, butterflies and, of course, there is the geology. Explore and learn about the many life forms that call Larimer County their homes. Join naturalist Rob Pickett on this 4-mile loop trail to the Horsetooth Falls. We'll discuss what is happening in our natural world this time of year, focusing on plants and animals. Wear layers to accommodate changing wind and temperatures, good shoes, water and snacks, binoculars, and a spirit of adventure. Meet at the Horsetooth Mountain parking lot, located west on County Road 38E about 21/2 miles beyond the South Bay Entrance or 1 mile past the Inlet Bay Entrance (Shoreline Drive). The parking area and trailhead are on the north side of the road. A fee is charged at the trailhead. Participants should bring: Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) Wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes (closed-toe recommended) Water Insect repellant Snacks Clothing appropriate for the weather Backpack (to carry it all) Weather dependent.
