Guided Hike/Program - Adults, 16+
Join Larimer County Naturalist Betsy Perna to learn about the Ravens of Devil's Backbone Open Space. Ravens are unique and intelligent. On this hike, you will learn about these brilliant birds - their adaptations, habitats, and more! The program is best suited for participants 16 years and older. Participants will meet under the covered pavilion, at the Devil's Backbone trailhead. The program is free. This location does require a $10 day-use fee, unless you have a current, annual entrance permit. If you would like to join without paying the fee, you can check out a Discover Pack from a local library or one of our offices. This program is best for participants 16 years and older. Hike: You will be hiking 2.4-mile loop on the Wild Loop which is classified as a moderately easy trail. • Limited steep hills, few obstacles and uneven surfaces • Acceptable for novice users • No loose footing or difficult terrain, all dirt paths and some stairs Participants should bring: • Binoculars, if you have them • Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) • Wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes (closed-toe recommended) • Water • Insect repellant • Snacks • Clothing appropriate for the weather • Backpack or way to carry it all Weather dependent
