Join us for a fun and interactive program on the secret lives of moths and other nocturnal insects. Learn about their habits and survival strategies, and find out about their role in the ecosystem. If we're lucky, we might even see moths up close and personal! We’ll make our way to the Keyhole and back. Best for participants ages 8 years and older. Meet at the Devil's Backbone Open Space trailhead. Hike rating: easy/moderate- 2.5 miles round-trip, trail has gradual elevation gain, stairs in some places, and is rocky in some places. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and carry water. Program is free but registration is required. Purchase of a parking permit is also required. Participants should bring: Flashlight or headlamp with RED LIGHT option Hiking shoes Water Insect repellant (optional) Snacks (optional) Clothing appropriate for the weather Weather dependent.
