Come learn about how and why getting outside is good for you! Modern research is proving what many have long known: we just feel better when we get outside – but why? Learn about the latest research, and how to develop your personal program for how to reduce your stress and improve your health. Techniques for putting your senses into touch with your environment will be demonstrated. Be prepared to sit on the ground; to take off your shoes and stand in place; and to sit still for a few minutes. Participants will meet at the Lions Open Space picnic pavilion. Rick C - Naturalist

I have enjoyed getting outdoors all my life, camping and backpacking. In my younger days, I did a lot of rock climbing and mountaineering in Colorado and throughout the West. From about 2003 to 2014, I volunteered a lot with the Colorado Mountain Club, Boulder Group, teaching rock and ice climbing, and leading climbing and hiking trips. I am active with local environmental groups. I am excited to become a volunteer naturalist for Larimer County and to start leading programs.
