Volunteer Litter Cleanup

Held annually on the 4th Saturday in September for more than 30 years, National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is one of the nation's largest single days of service and celebration for public lands. This year's theme, "Caring for our Shared America," calls on all of us to show up for the parks, trails, forests, and waterways we hold in common. National Public Lands Day is a collective act of care that brings communities together and strengthens our shared American story. Join us to clean up litter at Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir, and Pinewood Reservoir. Participants will meet at the Larimer County Natural Resources Admin Offices (1800 S County Rd 31, Loveland) to check in and gather supplies before dispersing to the reservoirs. This activity is suitable for all ages (youth under 16 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteers will need to be able to walk over potentially uneven terrain, bend, stoop, and grasp. Due to the nature of this work, PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Volunteers will need to bring: Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) Work gloves (some will be provided) Wear closed-toe shoes Water & re-fillable water bottle Insect repellant Snacks Clothing appropriate for the weather Backpack (to carry it all) Hand sanitizer (optional) A day parking pass & litter cleanup supplies will be provided.
