Volunteer Litter Cleanup - Mixed Ages
Join us in keeping our natural spaces beautiful, sustainable, and litter free! Celebrate Earth Day with us by picking up and packing out litter. Meet at the Department of Natural Resources Administration Offices near Carter Lake. We'll have an introduction, hand out cleanup supplies and then everyone will head out to Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir, Pinewood Reservoir and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space to remove unsightly litter from the land. Sign up as a group, family or individual. This activity is suitable for all ages (youth under 16 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteers will need to be able to walk over potentially uneven terrain, bend, stoop, and grasp. Volunteers will need to bring: Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) Work gloves (some will be provided) Wear closed-toe shoes Water & re-fillable water bottle Insect repellant Snacks Clothing appropriate for the weather Backpack (to carry it all) Hand sanitizer (optional) A day parking pass & litter cleanup supplies will be provided.
