Guided Hike/Program - Mixed Ages

So you've thought about going hiking, but boy, it just seems like it's kind of dangerous out there! Not to worry, you're about to have fun while learning how to keep yourself safe while hiking. Join us on a jaunt around Hermit Park where we'll cover the perils and joys of hiking, and the skills and gear you'll need to have a good time while hiking. Participants will start at the Homestead Meadows Trailhead (go all the way to the end of the road with no turns) and hike portions of the Moose Meadow Trail, Limber Pine Trail, and a short section on the road, traveling over natural surface trails which may be rocky, muddy, or covered in loose material for about 3.25 miles with an elevation gain of about 400ft. Pit toilets are available at the trailhead. Challenges: high elevation, rocky trails, moderate elevation gain. If you would like to see our route, look up our route on COTREX: https://trails.colorado.gov/routes/150789 Program is free, but registration is required. I have been a resident of Larimer County since 1971. Being active in the outdoors is one of the great things about living in Colorado, where there is a large amount of public space to explore. Fishing and hiking are my 2 most common activities in Larimer County Parks.
