I have enjoyed getting outdoors all my life, camping and backpacking. In my younger days, I did a lot of rock climbing and mountaineering in Colorado and throughout the West. From about 2003 to 2014, I volunteered a lot with the Colorado Mountain Club, Boulder Group, teaching rock and ice climbing, and leading climbing and hiking trips. I am active with local environmental groups that seek to raise awareness about climate change.
