Larimer County Park Rangers are hosting a Rangers and Reels Youth Fishing Day at Flatiron Reservoir for beginning fishers. This hands-on event will introduce local youth and their families to the basics of fishing. With guidance from Larimer County Rangers and Colorado Parks & Wildlife, kids will learn how to cast, handle fish safely, and enjoy a day by the water. The program starts at 10 am with education and handing out supplies. This program is for students age 5-16 years. WHAT TO EXPECT • All fishing gear provided for the day (rod, bait, and more) • Participants take their fishing gear home after the event • Learn to cast and handle fish safely • A welcoming, beginner-friendly environment, no experience needed! IMPORTANT INFORMATION • This event is free, but registration is required at the link or QR code below (limited to 30 participants) • A parent or guardian must attend with each child • Parking is limited, carpooling is encouraged • Parking and fishing permits are waived for registered participants Swimming and boating are not allowed on Flatiron Reservoir, all dogs must be on leash.
