Spend a day as part of our trail crew. Help build the connector trail between Nomad and Stout! Must wear a tie-dye shirt, no sandals. Volunteers will need to be able to hike 1 or more miles carrying two trail hand tools and supplies for the day. You will be using/swinging tools to move dirt, dig and create drainage features, use loppers/hand saws to remove vegetation, carry/lift rocks, use buckets/wheelbarrows to move material, and/or any other kind of physical labor needed to build the trail. Project level is difficult. Meet at the Soderberg Trailhead at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space: From Harmony and Taft Hill Road turn west onto County Road 38E. Continue west on County Road 38E approximately 5 1/2 more miles. Turn right on Shoreline Drive, continuing 1.2 miles to the Soderberg Trailhead on the west side of the road. Volunteers will need to bring: Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) Work gloves (some will be provided) Wear sturdy close-toed shoes Wear long pants as you may be working in tall grass Water & re-fillable water bottle Insect repellant Snacks Clothing appropriate for the weather Backpack (to carry it all) Hand sanitizer (optional) Please bring a lunch, snacks, and water as needed. We will have some water available but it is possible the water at the trailhead may not yet be turned on for the season. We will have some work gloves available, however, if you have your own we recommend you bring them. A parking pass will be provided.
