Come explore the history, geology and wildlife of Eagles Nest Open Space with Larimer County Naturalist, Nancy Rausch! This area provides abundant opportunities to see wildlife, wildflowers, and sweeping views. During our walk, we’ll delve into the area’s history and get to know the unique plants and animals that call this beautiful habitat home. We may even spot some of the area’s namesake Eagle’s soaring over the nearby cliffs. Participants will meet at the Eagle's Nest trailhead. Program is free, but registration is required. This program is best for participants 12 years and older. Hike: You will be hiking The 3-Bar Trail, 3.4-mile roundtrip loop which is classified as a moderately easy trail. • Limited steep hills, few obstacles and uneven surfaces • Acceptable for novice users • No loose footing or difficult terrain, all dirt paths and some stairs Participants should bring: • Binoculars, if you have them • Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen) • Wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes (closed-toe recommended) • Water • Insect repellant • Snacks • Clothing appropriate for the weather • Backpack (to carry it all) Weather dependent
