Campground Host
We are seeking hosts for Pinewood Reservoir, west of Loveland, CO.
Volunteer Campground Hosts support staff in maintaining a high-level of quality customer service at Larimer County Department of Natural Resources' (LCDNR) campgrounds. They provide a friendly, helpful, informative presence and carry out light maintenance and cleaning duties. Volunteer Campground Hosts impact everything from the visitor's experience to the stewardship of grounds and facilities.
Larimer County, located along Colorado's Front Range, offers a unique opportunity to live and volunteer at one of our beautiful campgrounds on a seasonal basis. Your RV site with full hookups is included.
We are seeking friendly folks who genuinely like people, are team players, work hard, and are passionate about public lands to provide excellent customer service, assist with our reservation process, maintain cleanliness of grounds, and turn over cabins.

Internship
Application deadline is March 7, 2025.
The Communications Intern connects people, nature, and place through engaging marketing, graphic design, and storytelling projects. Utilizing their creative skills, the intern will share the narrative of Larimer County Department of Natural Resources accomplishments, meaningful work, and conservation efforts.
This internship is a great opportunity to build a portfolio and gain hands-on experience in the field of community engagement. Interns can choose one of the two projects:
- Storytelling Project Internship
- Canva Design Internship
Requirements:
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Provide your own laptop or other equipment.
• Passionate about learning and enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge with others.
• Friendly, courteous, respectful, flexible, and a team-player.
• Organized and takes initiative.
• Good time management skills and self-starter.
• Communicate regularly with staff via phone, text or email.
• Track volunteer hours on a weekly basis.

Litter Cleanup Volunteer
Litter Cleanup Volunteers protect Larimer County's parks and open spaces by keeping them free of litter and set an example of responsible stewardship. Litter clean up is a great way to give back to the natural spaces you already love. Once a month, head out to your favorite open space or tray a new one each time. Every litter bit helps, even picking up micro-trash! Volunteer on your schedule, get exercise, and be outdoors. Opportunities available for all ages and abilities.

Nature Education Volunteer

Interested in inspiring a passion for the natural world in people of all ages? Love spending time outdoors? Nature Educators connect visitors to Larimer County parks and open spaces through fun and engaging educational programs. They inspire curiosity of the natural world and foster stewardship by leading programs developed by staff. No teaching experience necessary. We'll prepare volunteers with the skills and information needed to interpret the natural world for the public.
This volunteer role includes three (3) positions: School Group Educator, Stewardship Outreach Educator, and Tiny Trekkers Educator. Volunteers select the position that best suits their availability, interests, and skills.

Park Steward
Park Steward volunteers foster responsible land stewardship by maintaining and improving Larimer County parks to preserve the natural landscape. They assist staff with maintenance at Rotary Park, Horsetooth Reservoir. Volunteers must be able to pick up and carry heavy supplies plus scramble and climb down boulders with paint supplies. Maintenance projects include painting over graffiti at the "cave" and picking up trash. Park Steward volunteers preserve the natural beauty and scenery of iconic Horsetooth Reservoir.

Photographer
Volunteer photographers use their artistic vision and talents to capture the story of the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources. Photographers use the tools of their trade combined with a strong artistic vision to document special events, volunteer activities, scenic and recreational shots as well as capturing the essence of Larimer County's amazing natural resources. Selected photographs are used in annual reports, promotional materials, newsletters, presentations, websites, and where a picture says more than words ever could.

Plant Steward
Seeking a volunteer to water trees at Horsetooth Reservoir.
Nurture trees, shrubs, and native plants on Larimer County properties while promoting sustainability, providing wildlife habitat, and creating a welcoming space for visitors.
Plant Steward volunteers provide trees with the proper maintenance to ensure their longevity. Newly planted trees take a few years to establish under normal conditions and regular watering is the best way to prevent drought injury and ensure their best chance of survival. The schedule is flexible; choose the day & time that works best for you! No experience necessary. Just a desire to help young trees reach their full potential. Properly cared for trees provide maximum economic, environmental, and social value.

Raptor Nest Monitor
Volunteer Raptor Nest Monitors provide important observational data which informs protection and management of habitat, so birds of prey continue to find nesting sites on Larimer County properties into the future. They assist the Restoration & Stewardship team in identifying and monitoring raptor nests in selected Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) parks and open spaces. Volunteers monitor an assigned nest and record observations to help determine the success of the nest. Data collected by volunteer Raptor Nest Monitors allows LCDNR to develop appropriate management plans to protect significant regional parks and open spaces.

Volunteer Ranger Assistant
Recruitment for this role is closed.
Volunteer Ranger Assistants serve as an ambassador for natural areas and open spaces by promoting outdoor safety and awareness and answering visitor questions. Get exercise, fresh air and quiet time all while giving back to your community. You can volunteer on foot, ride your bike or ride your horse. The schedule is flexible however volunteers are needed most on weekends during the summer.
This Volunteer Ranger Assistant (VRA) program is a partnership between Larimer County Natural Resources and Fort Collins Natural Areas. Since 2008, it has successfully integrated the community in promoting visitors safety and enhancing the enjoyment of the outdoors.
